KINGSTON, Jamaica — Opposition Leader Andrew Holness on Friday appointed three people to the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Junior Shadow Cabinet.
They are Pearnel Charles Jr, who will work alongside Spokesperson on National Security and Opposition House Leader Derrick Smith; Duane Smith, who will work alongside Dr Andrew Wheatley on ICT and the Digital Economy; and Marlon Morgan, appointed to work alongside William JC Hutchinson, spokesperson on Agriculture.
Charles a former criminal prosecutor who has served as a judicial clerk, clerk of court in St Catherine and Crown Counsel to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, is qualified to practise law in Jamaica and the United States where he has membership to the State Bar of New York, the JLP said in a release. He is also JLP member Pearnel Charles’ son.
Smith is the councillor for the Chancery Hall division of the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) and is an entrepreneur. He is currently the managing director for KS Foods and general manager K&S Ventures Ltd, handling events management across the country. He is also Opposition House Leader Derrick Smith’s son.
Morgan, a former vice-president of the JLP â€™s young professional affiliate, Generation 2000 (G2K) is a communications consultant who serves as an aide to Holness.
